Artists Using House Guitars
Once in a while a musician gets really lucky. As a finger-style guitarist, I've experimented over many years with both factory and hand made instruments from great makers, but there's always been a compromise somewhere, a weakness of some sort in either sound or playability.
In the guitar Josh House has built for me, there is no flaw of any sort. It's been designed with absolute attention to my personal playing style, and already my playing is improving because of it. The two top sound holes allow me to hear the full spectrum of my sound in exactly the same way my audience does, and the rounded rim of the body allows me to maintain my right hand playing position in total comfort for a very long time. And the sound is glorious - deep, full, balanced and rounded, with a sustain that just refuses to end.
And it looks so beautiful that everyone's first reaction is a problem -they want to touch it to see if it's real, and I don't want them to!
Quite simply, I've never had a guitar of this class before, and I'm very much in awe of the talent that built it. I'm convinced that Josh House is one of great luthiers of the next generation.
