Artists Using House Guitars
I met Joshua House two years ago back stage at a festival in his home town of Goderich, ON. He was showing his guitars to the musicians and the buzz was electric. I remember playing one of his OM's and thinking I want one.
It's not every day that I have a dream come true, but the day my guitar arrived from Joshua House was definitely such a day. It is just beautiful and that's not just my opinion but the sentiment of most people that see it for the first time.
It's an OM style with Rosewood back and sides and Lutz Spruce top with a K&K dual source pickup system. It has an extra sound hole on top, which at first was a little strange to the ear, but having been playing the guitar for a while I have found it to be a great help to my playing because I hear every note and sound that I play. It also helps on stage or in a noisy session- the sound is right there acting as my own monitor. There is a beveled edge which makes for great comfort when playing long sessions.
The overall sound of the guitar is very clear and balanced from low to high end and very responsive.
Joshua was great to do business with, keeping me informed with progress as it developed. He also asked me a lot of questions about my playing and was able to custom make the neck for me because I was so used to my older guitar and wanted a similar neck.
Joshua House is not a big name (yet) in the guitar making world but that is going to change. In the music business, word of mouth still holds true. I could not be happier owning and playing my House guitar.
