It is my privilege to introduce and welcome American guitarist, Liz DeYoe, as the most recent artist to join the House Guitars Artist Series family!
I was first introduced to Liz through Kenn Fox, Paramount Guitars owner and House Guitars dealer in Wisconson. Liz is an excellent fingerstyle guitarist and a composer and teacher currently living in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Her fingerstyle playing blends jazz and classical technique into her solo compositions.
In 2014, Liz earned her Associate’s Degree in Music Occupations from Milwaukee Area Technical College, and in 2016, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN, with a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance.
Liz’s custom deep-body OM
Liz's custom OM is based off of my existing deep-body OM configuration. The deep-body OM features an extra ¼” of depth to the body of the instrument to add additional low-end response. The wood combination is a Torrefied Adirondack Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. This combination gives the guitar a rich sound with lots of clarity and definition for Liz’s detailed arrangements. The guitar is trimmed entirely in Ziricote with a Flame Blox Elder logo. Her guitar was built with a side-sound port. Besides allowing Liz to better hear her guitar, it also gives the guitar a full and open sound. Liz requested that the standard vintage style open-back tuners be swapped out for her favourite Gotoh 510 minis. Other upgrades include stainless frets and a K&K Pure Mini pickup.
Liz’s custom OM is a fingerstyle workhorse, offering great tone and playability in a classic design.
