I picked up my first guitar when I was 15 - a Yamaha my dad found at a garage sale. I taught myself the basics in playing, fell in love with it, and a few months later began taking lessons. Through seeing my teacher's custom Beneteaus and learning that my favourite musicians also played custom guitars, it occurred to me that I could learn to build my own.
In 2003, I took a building course with world-renowned luthier, Sergei de Jonge, and returned home to continue honing my skills through self-study.
Now, more than 15 years into my career, I am privileged to have my instruments played around the world.
I continue to study and learn as I strive to build the best instruments possible.
